Learn from our HFL Community:
This week’s featured HFL mentor is Ruchika Sharma, Project Manager (European Private Equity) at Third Bridge Group.
What would be your number one piece of advice to current students?
One of the key ways you'll solidify your knowledge quickly is by asking (sometimes multiple times). Don't be afraid of asking! Everyone in the office is always willing to lend a hand.
What is the best thing about working as a Project Manager at Third Bridge?
The level of client engagement and scope for growth within the company.
Describe your day-to-day role:
08.30am - arrive in the office and grab some coffee and breakfast in the kitchen (on Wednesdays they have croissants and yoghurt in addition to the usual cereals and toast)
09.00am - begin checking emails from clients
09.10am - briefly check in with manager/other project managers to outline the priorities for the day, highlighting any projects that you are contributing on as well as your own
09.25am - start working on these projects!
11.30am - quick coffee break
1.30pm - Lunch, usually in Spitalfields market or Petticoat lane (fab street food and cheaper than the former!)
2.30pm - Return to the grind
3.00pm - snacks are placed in the kitchen around this time, take 5 mins to have a look at the offerings
5.00pm - begin a final check in with projects you're on/any contributors on your projects, start drafting emails for EOD updates
5.30pm - EODs out
6.00pm - Ensure all ends are tied up, if there are any key objectives that need doing still, focus on these
6.30pm - skedaddle out of the office (often to the nearest pub)
